Florida Emergency Physicians, Kang & Associates, M.D., P.A., (FEP) is one of the nation’s largest privately held Group Practices of Emergency Medicine. Today, FEP provides medical services to greater than 400,000 patients seen annually in the ten (10) Emergency Departments located in the greater Orlando area. In October 2010 we are privileged to provide service to the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills Emergency Department and our volume will approach 450,000 patients.

FEP employs more than 140 full-time emergency department physicians and emergency medicine experienced mid-level practitioners. Approximately one third of the physician group is comprised of shareholders, all of whom are fully engaged in the delivery of clinical services. We enjoy a well-earned reputation for providing quality, compassionate care to our patients.

Florida Emergency Physicians was one of the very first Emergency Medicine groups incorporated in Florida. The Practice originated as a professional association formed in 1969 by four family practitioners and an OB-GYN physician.

The Group was organized to provide patient care in the Emergency Department at Florida Hospital in Orlando and has since provided services to patients for more than 40 years. Indeed, one of our most distinctive accomplishments has been the remarkable tenure and stable relationship enjoyed with our sole hospital client, Florida Hospital.

During FEP’s tenure with Florida Hospital, the Hospital has expanded by acquiring or building additional campuses. The original Hospital was Florida Hospital Orlando; Florida Hospital Altamonte was added in 1973, with Florida Hospital Apopka being acquired in 1974. Florida Hospital acquired Florida Hospital East Orlando in 1991, and Florida Hospital Kissimmee in 1997. In June 1998, construction was completed on the much-anticipated Celebration Health and FEP assumed responsibility for the ED at that time. Winter Park Memorial hospital was incorporated as of July 1st, 2003. FEP is proud to announce its association with Florida Hospital Waterman Emergency Department in Lake County as of December 1, 2005. In 2009 the new Florida Hospital Children’s Emergency Department was opened in the new Ginsburg Tower as part of the Orlando campus expansion. These nine Emergency Departments are located in four central Florida counties: Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake. The tenth campus is located in Pasco County, adjacent to the Tampa area.
